Planxty   •   Discography

Planxty is an Irish folk music band formed in January 1972, consisting initially of Christy Moore, Andy Irvine, Dónal Lunny, and Liam O'Flynn. They quickly revolutionized and popularized Irish folk music, touring and recording to great acclaim. Other band members included Johnny Moynihan, Paul Brady, Matt Molloy, Billy Whelan, Nollaig Casey, and, briefly, Noel Hill and Tony Linnane. Planxty broke up twice, first in December 1975 and again in April 1983. The original quartet reunited in October 2003, and their last performance (to date)) was on January 31, 2005. Liam O'Flynn died on March 14, 2018.
