Sleeve Notes

A visit to a singing-Pub or a ballad session is almost obligatory on a visitor to Ireland, and indeed the obligation is only slightly less binding on a native Irishman! If there is anything more Irish than the shamrock it must surely be a convivial evening in one of the many singing pubs to be found in all towns and most villages throughout the country.

On this record are songs which may be heard at these entertainments. Some of them may be familiar to you, others not. But either way, we are certain you will enjoy all of them.

Liam Maguire is one of the most popular entertainers on the circuit in Ireland. He has also attained great success on the club circuits in Canada and the United States.

One of Ireland's top singers and some of Ireland's greatest songs — a combination that can't be beaten.
