Sleeve Notes

Still considered the darlings of Dublin. Still bearded and musical with personalities capable of winning the heart of any Irishman. Any guesses that this bunch of lads are, of course, The Dubliners.

It is now seventeen years since The Dubliners first came together at the Edinburgh Festival where they swept on the folk scene and became the biggest thing the Irish entertainment business had ever known. They trail-blazed their way round the world bringing their Irish music to America., Australia and New Zealand as well as Germany. France and England.

On this "Home Boys Home" album, there is an excellent collection of twelve of their best loved songs including, a fine slip jig called The Rocky Road To Dublin, considered by Dubliner, Ciaron Bourke, "to be our signature tune" — or, there's the title track, a moral dedicated to all tardy women.

Whether a reel, a jig or a drinking song, the message is international and the music immortal. With this superb compilation, the boys are truly home.
