By Request is billed on Eric Bogle's website at the "Rest of The World version of The Gift Of Years" — a compilation of all previously released tracks. All but two songs are from his earlier Eric Bogle solo albums. These other 2 tracks only appear on compilations and anthologies.
1 "Santa Bloody Claus" also appears on the Eric Bogle compilation, Just The Funny Stuff (1991 - circa) and the Greentrax anthology Bah Humbug.
2 "Big in a Small Way" also appears on the EB compilations It's Not Cricket (1992) & Just The Funny Stuff (1991 - circa).
3 "A Reason For It All" & "Glasgow Lullaby" do not appear The Gift of Years. They are replaced with on "Shelter" & "It's Not Cricket".
