Notes

This recording was issued just after Seán Ó Riada's death in 1971. Its contents are apparently recordings from 2 live concerts: one in 1969 at Dublin in honour of Ulster poet Peadar O Doirnin and the Carolan Tercentenary Concert at Cork in June 1970. The record jacket notes include detailed notes on each song in both Irish and English, and a short memorial note by Sean Mac Reamonn which refers to Ó Riada's having "assembled" the Ceoltoiri Cualann to play both archival and contemporary collected Irish traditional music.
