Bobby Clancy 1927 - 2002
Bobby Clancy has had a stellar musical career including many years with the Clancy Brothers and, earlier, as a duo with his sister, Peg. Virtually all compilations of Clancy Brothers music include selections from Bobby Clancy. During the sixties he hosted his own television program, "When Bobby Clancy Sings." In the past twenty five years he has appeared in all of the major venues with the Clancy Brothers including Carnegie Hall, “The Good Morning America” show and Bob Dylans 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden. In 2000 he released a solo CD on Ark Albums entitled “The Quiet Land” which has become a favorite among young Irish musicians. A master of many musical instruments, Bobby maestros the guitar, banjo, harmonica and bodhràn. Known for his eloquent recitations of poetry, his keen wit and his captivating stage presence, Bobby has earned his place in the pantheon of Irish bards.
